Earlier this year, I won āMakeup Artist of the Year 2021/2022ā at the Yorkshire Prestige Awards. I feel very grateful that this is my second award win this year (following Bridal Makeup Specialist 2021 at the Lux Life Global Wedding Awards). Due to Covid, Iāve had to wait until today to be presented with my award at the beautiful Hazlewood Castle.
Itās always a brilliant feeling to win industry awards (this is now my 5thā¦. Not bad when youāre flying solo! Itās a scary thing putting your name to your business).
I admire anyone who starts their own business with only a few loyal followers (probably family and close friends), working a main job until they can make their āside hustleā work as well as just having the balls to be new at something. Especially in a saturated industry and quite frankly, working really hard around your life commitments until you can find some balance.
