It’s been an incredible couple of weeks celebrating 10 years in the makeup business – winning 3 new industry awards.
23 industry awards feels like a huge milestone marker of which I am incredibly proud of. I work solo in my business and have built it up from being a complete beginner. Running a business is highly rewarding (especially when it comes to moments like this) but it doesn’t come without it’s challenges.
You learn to not only use the skills for the service you provide (being a Makeup Artist), but you learn how to become an accountant, a PR specialist, a web developer, a content creator, a photographer, a therapist, a PA… and it’s a huge commitment that requires continuous effort, dedication and promotion.
On 7th October, I won “Best Luxury Bridal and Editorial Makeup Artist – North Yorkshire” in the Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2025. Following this, Teesside Live kindly wrote a great article about my time in the industry, my award and captured the essence of my businesses perfectly – which focusses on enhancing natural beauty with red carpet inspired glam.
