How to choose the perfect lip colour for spring
Forget the trends for lip colours this Spring…
Quite often we look to the runway for beauty inspiration. Designers and high street influence the trends from fashion to makeup and hair.
However, 2020 has not been the year we expected in so many ways. I am thinking screw the trends and go with what makes you feel good, lifts your mood and gives you the confidence boost you need to brighten your day.
How to choose best lip colours perfect for Spring
Spring is the perfect time to experiment with colour
Spring is essentially all about bright colours, spring cleaning and getting excited for the spring/summer season unfolding over the coming months. So give your makeup bag an overhaul – bin those old dirty products and treat yourself to a new go-to spring lip colour that will make you feel amazing on those zoom meetings and socially distanced walks! Whether you are thinking about trying a fabulous fuscia, a striking scarlett or a ravishing raspberry, picking the right tone of a bold colour is really important. It can either be a show stopper or a car crash.
I am a huge fan of bold colour but the idea can also be terrifying if you have always been a nude fan. Also, bold lips are really high maintenance so require absolute dedication and precision to execute. Once a bold lip is applied, it is important that it doesn’t bleed. There is always the fear of smudging or getting it on the teeth at an important event. Nothing looks worse than a poorly applied, messy bold lip colour. So be brave but be careful!
Easy tip to identify skin tone
Choosing the right shade is determined knowing your skin tone. The easiest way to identify your skin tone is to look at your veins. If your veins look blue/purple it would indicate a cool skin tone. If your veins are green it would indicate a warm skin tone. So typically cool tones suit pink, cranberry, ruby and berry lip colours. Warm tones typically suit copper, bronze, peaches and pale pinks. This is only a guide and my best tip is – if you apply a colour and it makes your teeth look yellow or washes out your complexion its not right for you.
